If you want customised t-shirts or good fashion basics like sweatshirts, check out this young British company
I am always a sucker for ethical clothing and now you can buy it customised on the squinternet.
Indigo Clothing has a huge range of everyday clothing for both men and women, from bandeau bras to hooded sweats, cargo pants, fleeces and all the other basics a wardrobe so badly needs.
The firm specialises in t-shirt printing, and for a small extra charge, it will customise items with screen printing or embroidery in pretty much any design you like - great for sports teams, nights out with the girls, etc (minimum order is 20 items). They will also create a design for you, if needed, and their custom clients include blue-chip companies and other organisations such as church groups.
The long-sleeved crewneck t-shirt (THE most useful item in my wardrobe) is only £4.15, while vests (some extra-long) start at only £3 or so.
Indigo is an ethical company, and also has a range of organic items, including children's clothing and babywear - again at very modest prices. They also stock good names such as Fruit of the Loom.
The internet is a huge boon when it comes to finding clothing like this, which used to only be available by catalogue from specialist uniform suppliers. These are the places where many hotels and shop chains buy their staff uniforms, but they are also a great source for wardrobe basics, especially if you don't want to pay extra for a fashion brand (which I don't).
The firm seems to have been started for the usual best of reasons - someone who wanted customised clothing for a sports team couldn't find anything decent, decided he could do better, and set up his own company.
Anyway, if you visit the website, which is straightforward to navigate around, don’t forget to check out the supplemental catalogue, the blogs detailing events and testimonials, and the promos - at the moment, they're offering a 20 per cent cashback for students, for instance.
