Sorting out
I am having some girly fun cleaning out my closet.
After reading Practical Princess, perfect wardrobe, I am having quite a lot of fun clearing out my closet. I must admit, I'm astonished at how much space I suddenly seem to be saving. I think it's the trick of using a template to fold things. Practical Princess make their own, which look to be much nicer than mine, which are just cut out of cardboard boxes. But mine do have the advantage of being made to fit the size of my own cupboards. Today I have been tidying out my cashmere drawer, which has gone down from 1.5 shelves to just one, simply by virtue of being folded properly.
I feel almost geekily ashamed to admit that I have also folded all my socks and tights in the manner recommmended in the book and again, it has saved a really surprising amount of space.
All I need now is a hanging rail. My current one is about 10 years old and only cost a fiver then. No surprise, then, that it's complete rubbish and keeps collapsing all the time. The DH managed to bolt my other one together with a bit of laminate, but this one is a different design and I'm damned if I can work out a way of keeping it upright if I hang more than a feather off it. And i absolutely refuse to pay 40 euros plus delivery for a new one from La Redoute, which is all I can find now that my local furniture store seems to have stopped stocking them.
Oh la, just one of the problems of living in the arse end of nowhere (I mean, recently it was a six-week wait for a completely bog-standard two-door cupboard. It drives me nuts...).
